Samsung Smart Washer App Reviews

Ive setup a wireless router in the basement and had no connectivity issues. However, the app is extremely limited. You can only chose from the factory preset cycles. There is no way to customize anything (e.g. heavy duty, with cold water instead of hot). What is worse is that if you dont start the machine with the app, you cannot connect to it, no info on status (e.g. How long to finish) or anything. Im hoping Samsung will provide more options, until then it is pretty useless.

This app needs an update ASAP! The washer and dryer are great but considering they are a product of Samsung I would assume the app would follow. When you exit the app it does disconnect but it will reconnect when you search for it again since the washers wifi is still on. One thing I would LOVE for the updated app to include is the ability to customize the washing/drying cycle to your preference like you can do manually on the washer/dryer itself. If I want a specific cycle such as "Heavy Duty" Id like to be able to change the water temperature from "hot" to "cold" on my phone, or add an extra spin etc. This would definitely be an added bonus!

App would have been much more useful if only it did notifications and wash status and nothing more. Remote starting of washers and dryers are not only impractical in addition to safety issues. Listen to your customers and give then a new app that only does status and do away with the required smart control button at the machine and all the discount issues.

Smart machines do not connect to WiFi as per the instructions given. Dont bother getting this app. Waste of time.

I have tried everything and cant even get this app to hook up to the washer or dryer. Why would it not be a simpler procedure to connect

The only thing that works on iOS is to manually start/pauses washer/dryer. The reason I bought them is to get notified when the cycle ends, which does not work. A lot of money for nothing, thank you Samsung.

Not a bad start. Would be even better if we could select options like "Extra Rinse" or "Extra Spin" as well.

Itd be a better app if you could set a start time, like an alarm clock! So the wash cycle would just finish as I woke up

Omg. I consider myself pretty intelligent and good with setting up products... But for the life of me I cant set this up. This is my first Samsung and prob will be my last as to even register this product in Canada is an ordeal. Now to get this app to work I apparently have to add the product to samsungsmartappliance.com and even that is a hassle as I have to certify the device and nothing I do can get this thing to authorize by product. Who ever is in charge of this app really needs to give CLEAR step by step instructions on how to activate/use this app. There isnt even a contact phone number. Just useless Faq section. Omg. This is the most frustrating app ever.

Cant get wifi set up, cant phone washer or dryer, feeling kind of dumb right now

I cant get the washer to show "AP" described in the directions.

This app lacks on all levels. Takes too long to acquire once installed. Unable to change or add options from the app unless you start the machines with it. Even if you start the with the app, the options arent there. Spelling mistakes. Notifications from the app are rare or non-existent. Samsung needs to revamp this. Make an iPad app as well.

The phone control for a Samsung and the phone app is terrible. Do not buy a Samsung washer and dryer because of the wireless interface. Buy an LG instead, I wish I would have.

I will admit that my washer and dryer are better than average, in fact, Im pretty happy with how they perform in laundry care. However, I paid for the premium machines, with LCD displays an wifi... Unfortunately, the app is so bad, there is no point at all for the machines to have wifi. From Samsung, I expected the networking functionality and the software to be flawless, and perhaps the functionality as laundry care machines to be its weak link. Not the case! Dont waste your money on the machines with networking ability.

Often you read reviews and you wonder if there is user error or misunderstanding. Not the case here. I understand networking, WiFi signal strength, etc. This app very inconsistently communicates with our LCD washer and dryer. It is cumbersome to set up and too much trouble to use. Dont waste your money with this appliance technology yet. Maybe in a year they will have this sorted out.

A good idea turned into a joke by untested code written by amateurs. Does not begin to work, and repeatedly loses track of the devices its supposed to communicate with. Useless. This is a perceived marketing niche treated without seriousness in every aspect of development. Prank-level software, broken by design, below what you would expect for a college homework assignment. Ill be buying a TV soon, and will make sure its not Samsung.

It never remains connected to the washer and dryer. It only makes a tiny noise (not adjustable) when the app is up and open...often it doesnt connect.
